Some say that the definition of ‘insanity’ is doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different result. We all do it. You know, when you keep skipping school but can’t seem to get the liaison officer off your back. Or when you keep swearing at your Mum and finding she’s always got it in for you.
We all do it, and we all feel frustrated sometimes that things don’t change. We forget that we are the ones that make things change.
Little steps in the right direction = change.
What can you do today that you haven’t done yet?
You probably already know some things you can do:
- Ask someone for help when things get tough instead of avoiding it
- Don’t take out your anger on others
- Return a phone call
- Put your stuff away in your room

Talk to an adult you trust who has shown you that they are worthy of your trust. These people are keen to help, happy to listen, and give you ideas on how you can do little things that will end up making a big difference in your life. The littlest of steps are much better than the grandest of intentions, because they actually get you somewhere different. And that feels good.
