Tips for Unwinding #1

Breathe!   It may seem the most obvious and automatic thing we do, but it’s amazing how often we aren’t breathing properly.  When we are stressed we can tense our muscles and our posture, and this can lead to us breathing shallowly rather than good deep breaths from our lungs….

 

So… stop right now and become aware of your breathing, notice is it short and shallow? Slow and deep?  Are you holding yourself tense?

 

One quick and simple way to help calm yourself and to make sure your getting some good deep breathing is the triangle breathing exercise; Simply breath in to the count of 3, hold for 3, then breathe out for 3.  Try this for 5 minutes and notice the difference….
